PRINT DROP IN.
VERNON STREET
When going down to Rossington street to concentrate on lino cut print, We asked what the process were that are available for us either up at blenhiem or Rossington street.
ETCHING - This is a method that needs painstaking preparation. A design is etched on to copper plate for either printing or embossing. The etching process requires a chemical reaction to occur onto the surface of the plate that is brought on by the exposure of your desire image before hand.
LINO CUT PRINTING - Were an image is traces over the surface of a, rubber like, lino piece and is then cut out of the surface of the lino using specific tools. The surface area remaining is then covered with the ink and pressed on to the desired stock.
COLLOGRAPH - A print that is created through the arrangement of different materials attached to the plate such as card, string or wood. This method provides the ability to experiment with textures and shapes.
DRYPOINT - This process uses a plastic plate to which thin lines/images are made by a needle on its surface. This method is only really suitable for more illustrative aesthetics.
MONOPRINTING - This print method is made up of an image that can only be used once.
